0.4 A Meeting of Minds - Part 1
Four years ago...
And he would be right behind the next door. Except he wasn’t.
“And, you are…” asked the suit behind the desk, in a room that would seem more in place with an office complex than a villain’s lair.
“The Fixer.”
“Ah yes, you. Have a seat. Let me pull up the schematics,” he went on as he reached for a tablet and began to flick through the content on it. After what seemed like minutes, he spoke again, “Yes, there you go. Carry this along with you at all times. It will give you access to all the data you need. The problem areas that you need to work on are listed in there.”
“I thought I would be meeting Dr Diablo.”
“Dr Diablo is too busy with his experiments right now to meet the help. Now, get to work and if you do a good job, maybe, he will spare you a few moments. Now, off you go.”
The armed guard escorted The Fixer to his work station. Once signed in and synced with the network, he began to pour on the problem. The lab power requirements were currently exceeding the output of its power source. The Fixer expected it to be running off nuclear power but the ‘Mad Scientist’ as he was less favourably referred to, was using what seemed like geothermal power. Which was possibly how this lab had avoided detection.
With the flick of a few buttons, the schematics of the lab complex popped up. A few more clicks and all the problem areas lit up in red. “Just why the hell did that Dr Diablo need me? This looks like a simple math problem,” grumbled The Fixer to himself. That’s when he noticed a red light flashing right at the bottom of the base. The pop-up read like a digital post-it. ‘Core system overcapacity, auxiliary generator fluctuating. Divert all power to Labs 4 through 7 in case of emergency.’
It finally all made sense. The good doctor would not let anything come in the way of his research, and he’d make all the staff sweat in the sultry tropical heat if it meant keeping his labs powered. He wasn’t called in by Dr Diablo. He was probably called in by some manager who did not want to lose his air conditioning.

I know I have often referred to the VictoryVerse as a science fiction based superhero universe, and this is the first time we explore that side in detail. We are also introduced to the first 'supervillain' in the universe.
